Disney on Ice
Carter had a blast watching some of his favorite Disney characters ice skating at the Disney on Ice show. It was a great date with my little guy whose enthusiasm makes everything so fun. Of course Carter wanted a new Mickey toy as soon as we arrived, but after the show he insisted that we pick up a Minnie toy for Quinny. I couldn't say no to such a thoughtful request so now we are the proud owners of both a Mickey and a Minnie Disney on Ice figurine. Thanks for a great date, Bear!
Gems from December
Carter says, "Mommy, I'm comfy and warm!" Unfortunately, this is truly necessary to stay warm in our house these days.
Quinn always knows how to distract Daddy when he's trying to work. C'mon dad, let's do the Heisman pose!

Lego Success
Carter completed his very first lego with daddy last week. I couldn't tell who was having more fun...but my guess is that it was daddy. I see many more lego projects in our future!
Santa Time!
Our visit to Santa was a success, although you wouldn't know it from the pictures! Carter was initially terrified of Santa even though we talked about it for weeks prior and even rehearsed what Carter would say to him. Fortunately, Carter warmed up to Santa after he asked Carter if he liked cars and trains. Carter immediately lit up and said, "I want a Mater Fire Truck!" His delivery wasn't exactly what I would have hoped for, but Carter was able to get his point across. When Santa pulled out the candy canes, Carter happily sat on his lap and posed for a couple photos.
We are thrilled the Christmas season is upon us. It's especially fun now that Carter is old enough to understand the holiday and be enthusiastic about it. Each day he walks through the house announcing that, "this is the best Christmas ever!" Let's hope it is!

Thanksgiving 2013
We hosted a delicious Thanksgiving dinner this year and thanks to Chris it was a huge success. Despite the tasty turkey and trimmings, Carter opted for meatballs and peas, while the rest of us feasted on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma and Grandpa Nelson made the trek in from California, Ian's family joined us, and our good friends, the Moffats, finished off the crew.
Our little turkey enjoyed her first Thanksgiving with lots of attention from family & friends.
The table pre-feasting.
The entertainment for the day.
The pajama gang hanging with grandma and grandpa.
The day was cold, but beautiful!
We have much to be grateful for this year! Happy Thanksgiving!
