This year's marathon was truly inspiring. The city of Boston and the surrounding areas came out in full support of the runners and the energy at the course was electric. As I watched I couldn't help but wish I was running the race too! The kids loved the sunny day and all the cheering. Carter even convinced me that he needed a race souvenir to take home.
The marathon represents so well the resilience of the city of Boston that I have come to know and love. I can't wait for next year as the tradition continues.

Jenny + Josh
Congrats to Jenny and Josh! I had a great time celebrating with this lovely couple in Salt Lake City. It was a quick trip, but I was thrilled to be a part of Jenny's special day. Everything was beautiful and spring came just in time to make Temple Square especially lovely.
Although I enjoyed being on my own for a few days, I was pretty excited to get home to the crew. I mean, how great are these two (Carter's pretty great too, just not pictured.)

Meeska Mooska...
BEAR is 3!
It feels like we've been celebrating Carter's 3rd birthday for the entire month of April and it's been fantastic! Several weeks before his big day, I asked Carter what kind of cake he'd like to have. I thought he would request chocolate, but instead he replied, "I want a Mickey cake!". And so the theme was set for birthday #3.
The preparations began with construction paper creations and baking cupcakes for preschool:
Next was his preschool celebration with friends and his much anticipated Mickey cupcakes!
It wasn't until the next day however that it was actually his birthday! We woke up and opened a few presents including his favorite--a personalized super hero cape. That was followed by breakfast with our very best buddies and then a couple more presents. Nap time was a little tough, but we made it happen before taking a special trip to Carter's favorite- The Disney Store! Lastly we returned home to hurry through dinner so we could dig into THE Mickey Cake.
Carter was patient enough to work around mommy's schedule for his birthday party which had to wait until this weekend. Fortunately because we did wait, the weather was warmer (hooray!) so we could play outside. We had friends and family over for a bbq, bouncing in the bouncy house, and yes of course, more cake!
Carter. is. the. best! We love him so much and we can't believe birthday #3 has come and gone (that's probably why we celebrated for weeks!) He's such a treat to have in our family and we can't wait to see where another year will take him. Happy Birthday Bear Bear!! We love you!
NYC
We took a quick trip into NYC to celebrate the birth of the Zackowitz's second baby boy. Although Quinn was a bit under the weather, she thoroughly enjoyed all the city had to offer. She unfortunately refused to nap but she was happy to wave and smile to anyone who came her way, despite barely being able to keep her eyes open. Carter enjoyed visiting "the big city" just as much and was thrilled by the life sized Lego man in FAO Schwartz. The trip went flawlessly until we decided to leave. The NYC half marathon happened to be that very weekend and due to road closures, the valet couldn't get our car out of the garage. We thought our only option was to wait it out, but we were lucky enough to have a helpful parking attendant guide us underground through the subway to avoid the road closures and make it to the car. After the trip was over, Chris reported that this was his favorite trip to NYC yet! I just wish I took more pictures to document the fun!!
