Bear Turns 2!

Carter's birthday was a whirlwind of fun!  From start to finish he was thrilled by all of the attention, outings, and presents that he enjoyed on his big day.  First was waking up to balloons and a rideable Lightning McQueen that he could drive on his own!  Unfortunately the battery wasn't charged up until later in the day so initially it was more of a chair, but it got lots of use as we started the day by watching Carter's current favorite, Cars 2!

 

Next Mommy and Carter were off to get bagels at Brueggers and toys at the Curious George Store.  I was sure Carter would pick something Curious George related, but he of course found a random red car that he fell in love with so we picked up another red car to add to our growing collection.

After a playdate and a nap, Carter enjoyed his Lightning McQueen car in the house for the afternoon and posed for a few pictures for me.  He definitely is Mr. Personality these days and he loves to work the camera!

 

 Birthdays bring out the full gamut of emotions apparently!

Earlier in the afternoon, Carter and I had picked up his Baskin Robbins ice cream cake and once he saw it, he wanted it immediately!  It was tough to even get out the door of the store without a total meltdown.  Carter was even more upset when I told him he had to wait until dinner time for cake so he spent quite some time screaming at the freezer, trying to get it to open to get into his beloved treasure.  Carter (and mommy) were thrilled when daddy, Ian, Liz, and cousin Ellie arrived and it was time for CAKE!

After cake, Carter opened presents and was thrilled by each one!  "More presents?, More presents?" was his mantra for the rest of the evening.  Then we headed outside to see Bear drive his battery powered car!  This little boy could not stop grinning from ear to ear.
